In a typical year, we offer more than 120 live events on campus. But you also get access to an extensive menu of fitness and lifelong learning programs through Otterbein University. As a nonprofit Life Care community, you’ll enjoy a full continuum of care and living options, all under one roof. Choose from independent living, assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation, or long-term care.

Independent living residents enjoy spacious studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in the main building. We also offer a Flexible Lifestyles Program for travelers or snowbirds who live elsewhere for extended periods of time.

Assisted living | Westerwood

Assisted living at Westerwood offers the perfect balance of independence and assistance. Our studio, one- and two-bedroom assisted living suites provide an ideal blend of comfort, security, and independence. We take an individualized approach to each resident to create his or her best day, every day.

Memory care | Westerwood

Westerwood memory care offers a homelike setting staffed by well-trained health care professionals who understand the unique needs of memory care residents. The neighborhood includes 14 spacious suites designed for privacy and well-being. Comfortable gathering areas promote interaction among residents, families, and staff, while structured daily activities stimulate the mind. An enclosed courtyard allows residents to safely enjoy beautiful days and changing seasons. It’s all about creating an environment that helps all residents reach their fullest potential every day.

Long-term care | Westerwood

When a loved one struggles with managing the activities of daily living or their health is declining because of a progressive illness, 24-hour supportive nursing care—outside of the home—might be needed. Westerwood offers quality long-term care at our five-star rated Medicare and Medicaid certified rehabilitation center. Westerwood Rehabilitation provides a choice of private or semi-private rooms. Expenses are often covered by Medicare or private insurance.

Short-term rehabilitation | Westerwood

When life is put on hold because of surgery, stroke, or injury, short-term nursing care or rehabilitation might be required by your doctor. Short-term rehabilitation at Westerwood helps you regain strength in a comfortable and supportive environment as you recover from a hospital stay or illness. Physical, occupational and speech therapy are offered on-site with a top-notch medical team to get you back on your feet in no time. If you or your family member is currently in the hospital and in need of short-term rehabilitation, let your case manager know that you’re interested in coming to Westerwood. Your stay may be covered by Medicare or private insurance.

Life care | Westerwood

The Life Care contract provides a flat-rate living cost so you can plan ahead for assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, or rehabilitation therapy, should you ever need it. It offsets the greatest expense associated with care that can easily reach $100,000 a year or more. There are several different types of Life Care contracts, so reach out to us to learn more today.

As a resident, you’ll have access to a year-long menu of workshops, day trips, lectures and social opportunities at Otterbein University.
